Southport & Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust is looking to recruit an enthusiastic individual to take up the post of Clinical Fellow in the Emergency Department at Southport District General Hospital. This post is a permanent post to start as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will be a front-line doctor for the reception and management of all emergencies as they present to the department, working in close co-operation with colleagues in other specialties. The postholder will work on the Tier 1 rota working a range of shifts, including nights and weekends.

The Emergency Department at Southport has over 50,000 patients per year, with a wide range of medical and surgical patients as well as trauma conditions, providing the opportunity for the postholder to gain a wide experience in these aspects of emergency work. The Paediatric Emergency Department is based at Ormskirk District General Hospital.

The successful candidate will form part of a friendly and supportive department which prides itself on good relationships between medical, nursing and other staff members.

All applicants must be eligible for full registration with the General Medical Council. It is desirable that applicants have ALS/APLS/ATLS.

You must complete a Declaration of Fitness to Practice form if the post requires a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) assessment, and return it prior to interview. Trust policy is to charge successful applicants for DBS fees.

In submitting an application, you authorise the Trust to confirm any previous NHS service via the ESR IAT process or paper staff transfer form, should you be appointed.
