ENT Clinical Nurse Specialist

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced and inspirational paediatric nurse to join the ENT department at Birmingham Children’s hospital, who will ensure that we continue to offer a service of excellence. As per the organisational values you will be required to be ambitious, brave and compassionate within your leadership ensuring that together we drive forward an innovative world-class ENT service.

You will be required to function as a specialist practioner in the delivering of specialist care to ENT patients. This will involve

  • Nurse led clinics in the outpatient department with clinical procedures such as micro suctioning of ears.
  • Skilled nurse lead in the bone anchored hearing aid program supporting patients and families pre and post operatively.
  • Acting as the Clinical nurse specialist for tracheostomy patients coordinating the patients care pathway. Providing clinical advice, education and support to patients, parents, carers and staff.

Previous recent experience of caring for tracheostomy patients is essential. Full training in clinical skills for example the micro suctioning of ears and procedures in the nurse led clinics will provided.

You will be a team player and confident in your collaborative practice with multi-disciplinary teams. You will also require proven management skills with experience of leading a team as the role will involve the line management of staff.
