An exciting opportunity has arisen for Registered Nurses to be part of Gloucestershire Hospitals Frailty Unit. The Frailty Unit is a 10 bedded Unit and is supported by the specialist frailty team on a daily basis. We are committed to providing the best working environment for our staff, and we’re investing in our frontline nursing staff by offering an attractive Recruitment and Retention Premium. Our Care of the Elderly nursing staff now receive an additional 7% payment in every pay packet.

We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic team players that will help us build and shape this new and exciting venture. As a registered nurse you must be passionate about providing gold standard care to our Frail population. We ask that you’re keen to work in a multi-disciplinary team and are passionate about developing outstanding integrated services for older people.

On a daily basis you will be working with a talented team of enthusiastic and motivated multi-disciplinary team of practitioners, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, social workers and medics alongside consultant geriatricians to deliver high standards of care.

In return we offer a robust induction programme and will provide you with the prospect to learn and develop your skills as a Staff Nurse. Opportunities that we offer include:

  • Two week supernumerary induction program

  • Mentorship and career coaching

  • Local teaching programs including topics such as dementia, delirium and recognizing sepsis

  • Band 5 Preceptorship program

  • Bespoke training opportunities identified through appraisal

  • Competencies in IV medicine administration and blood transfusion, IV cannulation, phlebotomy, male catheterisation

  • Full-time/part-time/flexible hours

  • Rotation through the other areas of General and Old age medicine.
