Brief Description of the Role:


This is a once in a life time opportunity to be part of an initiative which will have real impact on improving health and wellbeing for children and young people in some of the most deprived communities in Bradford by joining a team working on preventing childhood obesity. Bradford is one of the five local authorities that have been awarded Trailblazer Childhood Obesity Programme by the government.


The post holder will work on implementation of the Trailblazer Childhood Obesity Programme alongside the thriving research team of Born in Bradford and will regularly interact with partners from Well Bradford and Bradford Council. The post holders will work under the Born in Bradford Senior Research Fellow to implement the planned activities for the programme in local Islamic Religious Settings. You will work closely with young people, families and Islamic leaders, developing and maintaining channels of communication, encouraging active engagement and participation in the Trailblazer Childhood Obesity Programme.


We are open to the idea of job share to accommodate those who would like to take up this position for part time. You will be required to work flexible hours and occasional travel to other Trailblazer programmes sites outside Bradford.
