An exciting opportunity has arisenfor a Dispensing Assistant Technical Officer to join the Forward Thinking Birmingham Pharmacy Team (FTB).

 

FTB is a consortium responsible for the provision of mental health services for 0-25 age group in Birmingham. It consists of a group of four partners which include; Birmingham Women's and Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, the Priory Group, Simplify Health and the Children’s Society with Birmingham women’s and children’s NHS Foundation trust as the lead provider.

 

The Pharmacy team is responsible for providing medication to all hubs and ensuring that medicines management practise is in line with trust policies.

We currently manage and oversee pharmacy provision for: early intervention, home treatment and urgent care and the community mental health teams.

 

We are based at the Birmingham Children’s Hospital Pharmacy Department.

You will be visiting the FTB Hubs that are situated around the Birmingham area.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Dispensing prescriptions and liaising with care providers to ensure timely delivery of medicines, to meet deadlines
  • Managing stock and reviewing levels.
  • Visiting specialist Forward Thinking Birmingham Hubs to support teams with the safe and secure storage of medicines
  • Other responsibilities will include supporting the Inpatient Dispensary including participation within the 7 day service

Applicants will hold GCSE’s in English and Maths; NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services.
