Our Liver Unit is the UK's premier paediatric liver unit and one of the busiest in the world. Over the last 25 years over 1,000 paediatric liver transplants have been carried out and the team was the first to pioneer cut down, split and infant liver transplantation in the UK. We have a team of 50 physicians, surgeons, nurses and allied health professionals who are world renowned for their work. Our philosophy is family-focussed, holistic care. We are also a member of the European Reference Network Rare Liver, linking in with clinicians across Europe to improve outcomes for our patients.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Clinical Trials Research Coordinator to join our Hepatology Research team based at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. This post involves working alongside all the members of the multidisciplinary team to deliver high quality research trial activities in a timely manner.
You will be joining a well-established Research Team which has a strong portfolio of both commercially sponsored and NIHR portfolio research studies. The unit runs an active paediatric research programme focusing on viral hepatitis, autoimmune liver disease, molecular genetics of inherited liver disease, and quality and outcome of life following liver and/or intestinal transplantation.
The post holder will have excellent organisational and communication skills and attention to detail, to work with both internal and external providers and support departments. Previous knowledge / experience of clinical research is highly desirable.
