    An exciting opportunity that has become available atCygnet Delfryn House.

    We are currently seeking a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join us for a 6 month period (with possibility for extension). The post is 40 hours per week Monday-Friday.

    Set amid the rolling hills of Flintshire,Cygnet Delfryn Houseis our 28 bed high dependency inpatient rehabilitation service for men who have severe and enduring mental illness and who may have been detained under the Mental Health Act. Men placed with us often come from multiple placement breakdowns, failed treatment programmes or are stepping down from secure settings.

    The Opportunity...

    As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of patients within the service.
    In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to service user’s diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly.
    Prioritisation is key to manage the caseload of clients effectively and you will work closely with the Occupational Therapy and multidisciplinary team onsite.

    You will have...

    A Degree / Postgraduate Diploma (or equivalent) in Occupational Therapy, registration with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council) and a member of the RCOT (Royal College of Occupational Therapy)

    Experience in the field of adult mental health and/or acute inpatient mental health is essential

    Currently operating as a Band 5 (Also suitable for newly qualified)

    An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a “hands on” approach

    The ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

    Excellent communication / time management skills
