Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to develop your knowledge, skills and experience in a diverse organisation? This is an opportunity to work across a wide range of diverse services which include physical health, mental health and learning disability services. As a community based worker you will be required to support these wide range of services in different locations across Cheshire and Wirral.

This is your opportunity to join a progressive and dynamic Infection Prevention and Control Team who provide an Infection Prevention and Control, Tuberculosis and Public Health service to the wider population of Cheshire West and Chester (including Vale Royal). The service covers a wide range of providers including Registered Care Homes, General Practitioners, Schools, Childcare providers, Dentists and the general public. As part of a small responsive team, you will be supported to provide specialist Infection Prevention and Control, Tuberculosis and Public Health advice, proactive and reactive support, training and audit to all of these services. This is a great opportunity to make a real difference to the quality of care and improve outcomes for patients using our and others' services, whilst developing your skills and knowledge.

You will work collaboratively across services, providing strong leadership and direction to enable them to identify Infection Prevention and Control risks, investigate appropriate strategies to reduce/mitigate risks and measure the impact on the delivery of services and patient care. You will work autonomously, with support and direction of senior members of the team and other agencies including Public Health England, acting as a resource and a role model for evidence based clinical practice.

As part of cross service collaborative working you will inspire and motivate others, empowering them to ensure that all Trust Infection, Prevention and Control policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to.

You will be a registered nurse, ideally with experience in teaching and assessing or equivalent experience. You will have a passion for infection prevention, have a desire to develop your current knowledge and experience and be supported in working towards an Infection Prevention and Control qualification.

Please note, external applicants will be required to pay for their Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS). Enhanced Disclosure costs £40. Standard Disclosure is £23. Administration fee is £3.50. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. DBS costs will be waived for applicants who are being recruited for COVID-19 reasons.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 3 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).
