The Northern Care Alliance NHS Group (NCA) unites five local hospitals to deliver high quality care across the North East of Greater Manchester.

ELFS Shared Services, established in 2002 and hosted by Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust provides Transactional Finance and Payroll shared services to over 40 NHS organisations across the country from our offices in Darwen Lancashire. We are continually attracting new business and now plan to strengthen our management team.

We are looking for a talented individual who has an interest in Shared Services, who iscommitted to working as part of the team to drive forward service excellence for all our clients

This opportunity is for an experienced and highly motivated individual. The role is for a Head of Financial Services who will be an integral part of the senior management team.

You will be expected to challenge, influence and advise on the activity of the Shared Service in order to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

You will support the organisational aims and objectives by being flexible and responsive to client needs and to design and implement changes to the ways that financial services are delivered to ensure continuous improvement.

The role involves managing 100+ Finance staff, with responsibility for the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Technical Accounting teams as well as being a specialist Client liaison manager for specified Clients

You will also support the finance department in the process of meeting its objectives and lead in the preparation of budgetary and reporting systems and implementing procedures that enable effective financial management and efficient use of resources.

You will be proactive and highly motivated with strong IT skills, competent in the use of Microsoft Office and computerised ledger system and have an interest in supporting the development of smart automation for our business.

You will also require a good understanding of the accounting function and shared service environment and should be able to plan your workload in order to meet both strict and challenging deadlines.

You will be a CCAB qualified accountant with relevant post qualification management experience.
