Senior Chief Cardiac Physiologist

Band 6 / Band 7 (dependent upon experience).

 

Full Time (Part-time will be considered)

 

We are seeking to recruit three enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our busy, friendly and rapidly developing Cardio-Respiratory Department.

The cardiology department has expanded greatly in recent years with recruitment of specialised lead consultants in imaging, heart failure and the local smart heart programme. We have strong connections with our local tertiary centres.

 

The echocardiography service at the Trust is about to enter another exciting period of change with the recruitment of an 8th consultant specializing in imaging particularly the development of cardiac CT and cardiac MRI.

 

The Cardiology department has 5 Cardiologists with a specialist interest in echocardiography and cardiac imaging

 

The department has a busy and expanding Echocardiography Service which includes stress echocardiography both exercise and pharmacological and the development of a bespoke cardio-oncology service.

These posts provide an excellent opportunity for enthusiastic cardiac physiologists to help develop a high quality echocardiography service as part of a motivated and cohesive team.

All physiologists are encouraged to attend relevant course/meetings as continued professional development and a lot of investment is being put into the development of physiologist led services.

Our department has a strong emphasis on teaching/training of echocardiographers, specialist registrars and newly qualified junior members of staff. We support the PTP training programs

 

As part of the role the successful applicant will be expected to manage and develop an appropriate specific area within the department this will be decided on experience after interview.

 

This is an ideal opportunity for a current band 7 seeking a change, or a forward thinking Band 6 who is looking to develop their career in cardiology further. The successful applicant should have the relevant experience of working within a Cardio-Respiratory Department required to take on this senior role and be able to demonstrate continuing professional development. The candidate should be RCCP registered, have BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent, BSE accredited (or working towards accreditation) and may possess BHRS (or equivalent) accreditation.

A charge of £60 (Enhanced) will be made by the successful candidate which will be deducted from the first 3 months’ salary. In addition to this, you will also be required to re-pay any future costs that may arise in relation to DBS fees.
