Be part of the movement to improve and provide mental health services for young people aged 0 to 25 years old in the city of Birmingham.

Come along to our open day on Thursday 24th October 10am-4pm at Highbury Hall, 4 Yew Tree Road, Birmingham, B13 8QG. You will meet members of the mental health service teams who will be able to share their experience with you about working for us and will also be able to offer you further advice regarding the service and career opportunities.

Forward Thinking Birmingham has been in existence since 2016 and continues to develop specialist services for young people with a range of mental health needs.

Be under no illusion we have work to do but rest assured FTB is a unique and truly individual service, which is continuously learning and evolving, whose primary aim is to meet the mental health needs of a multi-cultural city.

We are seeking to recruit mental health practitioners, who will have experience as a registered mental health nurse and or other professional registrants such as social work or psychological therapist to our community team covering the North of the city based in Sutton Coldfield.

Ultimately you will be able to hold a complex case load within a community setting and work safely and sensitively with our patients.

Our service includes patients with first episode psychosis and or a range of mental health disorders. You may also come into contact with people with a diagnosis of Autism, personality disorder and needs related to learning disabilities.

You will be an inspirational, innovative, high performing individual who is able to make safe and confident decisions around patient care, working in close partnership with patients and their parents, families, carers and friends and a range of other stakeholders.

You will need to hit the ground running, therefore, you will have extensive post registration experience in mental health setting. We expect our staff to lead from their heart – have a passion for wanting to make a difference to people’s lives, acting as a vigorous advocate for the young people of Birmingham.

You will have access to a range of specialists and professionals – ours is a truly multi-disciplinary approach to health care. We are continuously expanding and developing specialist services and supporting staff through qualifications such as non-medical prescribing therefore there are opportunities to develop.
