We wish to appoint an efficient, experienced and committed secretary to provide secretarial support within the Gastroenterology/Hepatology Department at Gloucester Royal Hospital working under the leadership and direction of the secretarial supervisor.

Ideally you will have a minimum of 6 months experience in a medical setting as a medical secretary or appropriate secretarial experience elsewhere. The post requires a flexible and innovative approach to the work.

You will have RSA II or equivalent audio/copy typing plus well-developed communication, organisational and time management skills. An ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment is essential. This role would suit a person with an outgoing personality who can work in a team and also on their own initiative.

You must have current experience and an excellent standard of audio typing skills (60wpm minimum). You must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office [including ‘Outlook’ & ‘Internet Explorer’]. Experience in the use of Crescendo digital dictation and Infoflex would be an advantage, as would a qualification in AMSPAR for medical secretaries.

Hours: 25 hours per week

Salary: A&C Band 3 £18,813 - £20,795 pa pr
