An exciting opportunity has arisen for a well organised and motivated Administration Assistant/Secretary, to join our busy and friendly management team, working within General Medicine.

You will need to have strong organisational skills, and be a confident communicator with proven administrative experience and secretarial skills. You also need the ability to work with complete confidentiality.

The role involves providing support to the Management Team, including Matrons, their administrative tasks and secretarial requirements, managing staff diaries, typing of letters and reports, recruitment and payroll duties, stock ordering, filing, having a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, answering telephone calls and receiving visitors to the department.

The ideal candidate will require a strong administrative and secretarial background, be a team player with excellent keyboard skills, have to ability to pay close attention to detail, and be able to remain calm and professional under pressure. We are looking for someone with a positive, friendly attitude, with the ability to work on their own initiative.

The hours for this post will be worked over 5 days, Monday to Friday.

DBS Checks

Please be aware that all new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. By applying you are agreeing to this undertaking. If you are successful you will be asked to confirm if you wish to pay in one amount or in instalments. The charges are currently £27.20 for a standard check and £44.20 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.

Please note that Volunteers, Bank only staff and Apprentices on the National Apprenticeship Minimum Wage will not be charged.
