This is an exciting training opportunity to join a committed workforce who are looking develop services for young people in Surrey who are experiencing mental health difficulties. We are particularly keen to increase the expertise available to children with learning disabilities and/or a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder and their families to enable them to access a wider range of treatments options.

Successful applicants will work within our Behaviour Emotional and Neurodevelopmental (BEN) teams and the Children with Learning Disabilities Service. By working across two pathways, the trainees will have the opportunity to develop practice when working 1:1 with mild to moderate LD, working with families where the LD is more severe and working with children and young people to treat needs relating to their ASD diagnoses.

The successful applicants will undertake training on the 2 Year Postgraduate Diploma in CYP IAPT Therapy starting January 2020 for ASD/LD, (delivered at UCL). You can find specific information about the course and caseload requirements in the documents attached to this advert. This is a training role within the Child and Young Persons Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (CYP-IAPT). This intensive training post will equip the post-holder to provide interventions based on CYP-IAPT care principles and also an evidence-based intervention consistent with their training course. The post- holder will work in the service for at least 1.5 days of the week using the newly developed skills whilst attending the training programme for the one day.

This is a permanent post that will be based in Godalming.




Please note that all salaries shown are based on whole time of 37.5 hours per week for non-medical roles and 40 hours per week for medical roles, part time roles are pro-rated accordingly.
