An opportunity has arisen for a Data Centre Manager to be based at Trust HQ, Exeter or our North Clinical Hub in Bristol.

The post holder will be expected to the subject matter expert in managing the Trust’s Data Centres in Exeter, Bristol and St. Leonard’s ensuring that they provide a resilient 24x7x365 environment.

The primary purposes of the role are to:

  • Create, implement and develop Data Centre improvements;

  • Maintain safe, secure, and resilient Data Centres;

  • Work closely with the Estates and the wider IT team to deliver resilient solutions;

  • Manage a number of professional third parties such as Dell, Microsoft, Cisco, etc. to deliver appropriate technical solution. This may be using on-site or off site resources;

  • Manage the Senior Server Engineers;

  • Ensure that appropriate Data Centre products and services are procured and managed;

Practical knowledge of Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery operations is essential, including electrical and air-conditioning works.

You will be expected to have a good understanding of Windows server and Cisco network technologies and have the ability to work closely with the server and network engineers in supporting systems.

The role includes the line management of 4 x Senior Server Engineers so previous management experience will be expected.

Working with the Trust project teams, you will be required to assist in the design and implementation of new application services.

The post is part of the on-call engineers team required to support 24x7 services delivering our 999 and Urgent Care Services.
