An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Children's Continuing Care and Health Short Breaks Team to join our team providing high quality planned support sessions, play and lots of fun for children who are aged 0-19 with multiple complex and enduring health care needs to assist the young person to achieve their identified outcomes. This post is specifically working with and providing care to children who require long term ventilation (life support) within their home.
You will need to have significant experience working with children with complex health needs, be Non-Invasive Ventilator and Tracheostomy competent to apply for this post.

The majority of your working hours may be spent working within the family home, we also support children attending events in the local community, accompanying the child or young person with the family for long and short days out.
We operate a cross service model of working and you will be expected to help out and provide care at Hannah House or Specialist Inclusion Learning Centres across the city if and when the need arises.
Your ongoing professional development will be supported through our internal training programme, support to enable completion of the Care Certificate. LCH has supported staff to undertake higher education courses in course in association with both Leeds Becket and Leeds Universities e.g Assistant Practitioner course, the Associate Practitioner course (the first set of students have just completed their course and received entry to the Register)
As we are a 24 hour 7 day per week service you will be required to work days, waking nights, evenings, weekend's and bank holidays to ensure we provide a personalised service to the children, young people and their families.
It is essential that you have a drivers' license and access to a vehicle to undertake this role.
If you are successful in being offered a position which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The level of check required is dependent upon the position that you have applied for. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48.43 or Standard £30.43) from your salary. There will be no charge if you are enrolled in the DBS Update Service or a current employee of the Trust.


Due to the nature of the role it is essential that applicants are able to travel independently across the locality and have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes. If necessary adjustments can be considered in accordance with the Equality Act 2010.
