Day Surgery Unit and Endoscopy

Hours: 37.5 per week
Salary: £44,606 to £50,819 pa

Essential Requirements: Registered Nurse or ODP

Over the last 2 years we have supported the embedding of our innovative Theatre Staffing Strategy within main theatres and DSU at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust.  Also, over in the last year we have invested in a state of the art Endoscopy department that was recently highly commended by JAG. Therefore, we are looking for an enthusiastic, dedicated and flexible colleague to lead these departments and continue to build a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. 

This is a newly developed leadership role responsible for the delivery of safety, quality and productivity/efficiency within DSU and endoscopy providing the link between the directorate management team and speciality leads. A key part of the role will be the establishment of frameworks to monitor safety and performance across DSU and endoscopy including the audit and review of these frameworks.

The post holder will play an active role in activity planning and will take responsibility for delivery against plans. The post holder will have to ensure activity is appropriately tracked and improvement plans and established at an early stage if a variance is identified.   

The post holder will be responsible for ensuring high quality patient care within day surgery and endoscopy through the identification of best practice and effective working with clinical leads. The post holder will also be responsible for service development within both areas. 

The ideal candidate will have extensive leadership experience within the theatre environment to complement their relevant specialist practice skills, endoscopy experience is desirable.  Through their leadership experience candidates should be able to demonstrate sustainable change management skills. In addition, the ideal candidate will have demonstrable influencing skills allowing them to negotiate to achieve the best outcome for patients.
