We are in the process of recruiting a replacement consultant to join our existing team following a resignation. This is a substantive appointment, with full time commitment in both obstetrics and gynaecology. This will include contributing to the resident on call rota (one night every four week). The applicant must have a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or equivalent qualification in Obstetrics and Gynaecology and must be registered in the GMC’s specialist register or be within six months of obtaining CCT at the time of interview. We are particularly seeking a colleague with special interests in Maternal Medicine (ATSM or equivalent), in addition to a broad range of generic skills in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Candidate with adequate experience and who have keen interest in Maternal Medicine who don’t have required ATSM will be considered. Expectation in that case is that the appointed candidate will obtain the ATSM in maternal medicine within 2 year of commencing the post. The continuance of post will be dependent on completion of the ATSM. Professional and study leave will be allocated to enable achieving the ATSM.

The ability to work within a multidisciplinary team is essential. Applicants must be both flexible in their approach and be ready to meet the challenges presented by the evolving health service changes in North Wales. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in all aspects of work including outpatient clinic sessions in obstetrics and gynaecology, labour ward and gynaecology operating theatre lists in addition to the hybrid resident/ non-resident on-call rota.

The rota frequency and work pattern out of hours is reviewed on a regular basis and changes may be necessary in future to adapt to changes in the department.
