An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Procurement Department for a Senior Operational Purchasing Manager based at Stepping Hill Hospital assisting the Head and Deputy Head of Procurement.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide an effective and efficient operational procurement service, an effective and efficient materials management service; and have overall responsibility for managing E-catalogues, the Purchase Order System and the Stock Ordering System. Responsible for delivering savings and managing relationships with suppliers, and will be responsible for maintaining effective working relationships providing commercial support to internal customers. Undertake a wide range of procurement activities and assist in the delivery of the annual Cost Improvement Programme (CIP) target against an influenceable spend. Will be required to ensure appropriate, robust processes are in place and that the internal customers understand the procurement process.

In addition the successful candidate will have responsibility for managing, motivating and developing the Operational and Materials Management Teams, ensuring delivery of a fast, efficient and best value service throughout the organisation in a challenging climate.

The successful candidate will possess or be working towards their full MCIPS (or equivalent) accreditation.

This is an extremely busy and interesting department to work in. You will meet a different challenge every day and the successful candidate will be an integral part of the team providing a first class procurement service to the Trust.
