We’re looking for full-stack application developers with experience of ASP.Net, C#, CSS, HTML5 and enterprise databases. We are looking to appoint at band 7, dependent on skills and experience, but we’d also welcome applications from candidates who do not quite meet the grade requirement, but who would, after gaining specified competencies, be suitable for the role, these would be hired at band 6.


University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust (UHS) holds the status of Global centre of digital excellence and is leading an exciting programme to become paperless as a digital exemplar trust. We are utilising additional investment to boost our informatics strategy and enable us to deliver pioneering applications to support patient care and medical research. As part of our current wide-ranging digital strategy, we are developing a modern data warehouse to power advanced real-time analytics, providing insights and enhanced decision making for all our staff

The technical solutions team comprises of integration specialists and application developers that leverage data from disparate healthcare systems to create coherent enterprise solutions, for use by clinical and management teams. The success of our recent projects, such as the nationally reported eWhiteBoard and digiRounds projects and the internationally acclaimed and award winning My Medical Record programme, has led to an increased demand for custom solutions and as such, we are growing the team.


We’re looking for experienced full-stack application developers who can enhance our existing systems, and develop new solutions to meet the needs of the Trust and our partner organisations. Significant experience of ASP.Net, C#, CSS, and HTML5, is essential, as well as practical experience of enterprise databases. Awareness of HL7, FHIR, JSON/XML would be advantageous.

Applicants must be self-motivated, with an ability to adapt their skills to our development environment. We operate complex data storage architectures with multiple APIs and therefore significant knowledge transfer will be required, so the right candidate will also be a quick learner. The post requires collaboration with non-technical staff to establish requirements and model the business.

If you do not meet all the grade requirements but can demonstrate many of them, we will consider appointment at a training grade with a view to you gaining specific competencies, undertaking training or building experience which would then make you eligible for the advertised positions.
