A position has arisen within the Digital Services Team (DST) for an IT Support Technician to be part of the DST Desktop Team. This is an opportunity to be part of an exciting programme of IT enabled transformation and long term support within Frimley Health FT.

You will be supporting the Trust’s desktop computers and IT related devices on a daily basis. You will be expected to assist with the implementation and operation of all aspects of the Trust’s infrastructure and be a member of the Digital Services Team out of hours on-call team.

The environment is largely desktop Dell PC’s with a growing deployment of VMWare virtual desktops, MFD's and other network printers etc. Wireless devices including laptops, tablets and mobile work stations. You may be required to work out of hours to deliver IT projects or fix urgent problems and be required to work across sites to support IT projects.

In addition to operational responsibilities, we are looking for a candidate who can quickly learn the current mission critical IT support systems and respond to a variety of support requirements. An awareness of the NHS environment, particularly of desktops, Microsoft Office Suite of applications, Apple devices and general IT systems is required. You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a practical approach to dealing with inquiries and efficiency at resolving problems for our colleagues and have had demonstrable hands on second line desktop support experience.

The Digital Services Team is based at Heatherwood Hospital (Ascot) and this role will be part of the Desktop Team resources working out of Frimley Park Hospital as well as working at other Trust sites to support BAU & project activities as required.
