We are looking for an experienced Cyber Security & IT Governance Professional to join and help lead a forward thinking team, recently restructured to combine Information Governance (IG) and Cyber Security (CS) under the banner of Data Security and Protection (DSP).

The core purposes of this post are to provide leadership and direction for the Cyber Security function across South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (STFT). The post holder will work closely with the Head of IG, to shape and deliver all aspects of the Cyber agenda and ensure compliance with legislation, regulation and best practice. The post holder will also work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation and other interested parties locally and nationally to progress the wider DSP agenda across the health and social care economy.

The post holder will be the principle point of contact, on a day to day basis, for all Cyber Security related issues arising within and relevant to STFT and as such must be an experienced subject matter expert with a background knowledge of the health and social care environment. Additionally, as the go-to person for cyber security, information security and IT Governance related advice, the role requires a strong knowledge base of the application of General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA 2018) within an NHS IT environment is an essential element of this role.

The post holder will be encouraged to regularly update their awareness of cyber security, including the latest threats / response plans, and reviewing advice / engagement schemes to raise awareness that address prevailing national guidance. Also, the position plays a key role in the identification and management of information risks and support with IT governance, including interfaces with internal and external audit teams and other regulatory bodies.

Evidence of strong leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to effectively manage and motivate teams of staff is essential for this post.
