Leeds Community Dental Service are a citywide service. We offer a wide range of dental services in hospital, prison and community settings. The Community Dental Service provides NHS dental care for children and adults who have dental treatment needs which cannot be met in a general dental practice. The majority of our patients have physical, sensory, intellectual, mental, medical, emotional or social impairment or more often a combination of these factors.

A post has arisen for a well-motivated dental nurse to join the dental service. As a team we are committed to providing a service of high quality dental care to the community we serve. The position is a permanent contract working from any of our locations across Leeds, so must be willing to travel.

You will be required to work flexibly within this team, supporting clinicians in a range of work activities appropriate to a qualified Dental Nurse. You may also be asked to carry out other duties, as may reasonably be required, by the Clinical Lead or Head of Service for Community Dental Service.

As an experienced Dental Nurse you will hold a National Certificate for Dental Nursing and be registered with the GDC.

Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.

You must be a qualified Dental nurse with a current GDC registration.

Someone who is willing to travel. Outgoing, motivated, has great communication skills is patient and caring.

If you are successful in being offered a position which involves working with patients, you will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. The level of check required is dependent upon the position that you have applied for. The Trust will administer the DBS check on your behalf and will recover the cost (Enhanced £48.83 or Standard £30) from your salary. There will be no charge if you are enrolled in the DBS Update Service.
