We provide a high quality range of acute care services and employ over 6,000 staff, who serve a population of approximately 400,000 people across Wirral, Ellesmere Port, Neston, North Wales and the wider North West footprint.

The Wirral is easily accessible to major airports and has excellent transport links including motorway, train, bus or ferry and within easy reach to the major cities of Liverpool, Chester and Manchester as well as neighbouring North Wales.

We are looking to recruit an exceptional band 5 staff nurse with an interest in gynaecology to become an integral member of our team in the Women's and Children's Division at Arrowe Park Hospital. Gynaecology experience is desirable but not essential for this post. Candidates must be enthusiastic and interested in learning about all aspects of Gynaecology.

The unit is well equipped and consists of a 16 bedded inpatient ward, a day case unit and an Acute Gynaecology Assessment Unit , an Early Pregnancy Unit and a pregnancy counselling clinic. The position is rotational throughout these areas.

This is a fast paced unit with a high patient turnover which includes many aspects of Women’s health such as early pregnancy care, including miscarriage and elective and non- elective surgical patients consisting of Gynaecology and Breast Surgery.

The post holder will have excellent communication skills and have an ability to deal with potentially difficult and emotive situations relating to pregnancy loss and oncology in a sensitive manner and make decisions using their own judgement whilst recognising the remit of their role.

The successful applicant must be willing to participate in the treatment and care of patient’s attending for termination of pregnancy.

The successful candidate will support the nursing and medical team to provide safe care and treatment for patients during their stay or appointment in the unit.
