Working Pattern: 37.5 hours- Monday to Friday between 08:30am-16:30pm.

Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust provides healthcare in hospital and the community to 258,000 people across Southport, Formby and West Lancashire.

Acute care is provided at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and Ormskirk District General Hospital. This includes adults’ and children’s accident and emergency services, intensive care and a range of medical and surgical specialities. Women’s and children’s services, including maternity, are provided at Ormskirk hospital.

The North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre at Southport hospital provides specialist care for spinal patients from across the North West, North Wales and the Isle of Man.

The Trust also provides sexual health services for the Metropolitan Borough of Sefton.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a dietitian to gain invaluable experience within an experienced Adult Dietetic Team. We welcome applications from either newly qualified or experienced dietitians.

Acute Adult Dietetic Service

We provide in-patient dietetic services to a range of medical and surgical wards at Southport and Formby District General Hospital and at Ormskirk District General Hospital.

The successful post holder would also support other members of the team during annual leave or sickness and this will give the opportunity to gain skills in areas such as oncology, stroke, gastroenterology and the North West Regional Spinal Injuries Centre.

The Dietetic Department supports student training as we recognise they could be our future work force. The department will offer training and support to a dietitian who hasn’t had the opportunity to work with a student before.

We offer you:
• Trust induction
• Local induction and ongoing support and training
• Preceptor and support if newly qualified
• Supervision in line with Therapy Services guideline
• Appraisal with review
• Access to relevant internal and external training as identified through the appraisal system.
• In service training

Successful Candidates must have:
• Degree in Dietetics (or equivalent)
• Be HCPC registered (or due to register this Summer on completion of relevant course)
