Staff Nurse Position Band 5

Ward 12 and Wirral Acute Femoral Fracture Unit (WAFFU)

We are looking to recruit newly qualified and/or experienced staff nurses to join our established nursing team. We are looking for Registered Nurses who are forward thinking, motivated and want to make a difference to patient outcomes and wish to join our welcoming team.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity of working in two distinct ward environments allowing them to develop their skills in elective and trauma orthopaedics.

Ward 12 is a 16 bedded, ring-fenced, elective orthopaedic unit which specialises in providing care for patients undergoing complex total hip and total knee replacements, along with other upper and lower limb surgery.

WAFFU (Wirral Acute Femoral Fracture Unit) is an 8 bedded unit, which aims to optimise the care of our acute femoral fracture patients during their preoperative and early postoperative phase. Ensuring The National Hip Fracture Database Gold standards are met for all of our patients. The WAFFU team will be responsible for ensuring our patients receive the best standards of care from acute admission liaising closely with the Emergency Department.

Applicants should be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team, be able to work under pressure and be keen to drive orthopaedic care forward
