Due to service expansion Oncology Department of Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust are pleased to be in a position to offer various positions within the Oncology Team. Successful applicants will be motivated individuals with a wide experience in Clinical and/or Medical Oncology.

The Oncology Department is a part of the Regional Cancer Centre Care Group, which also includes Haematology, Breast Services and Dermatology. We provide Oncology services to South East Hampshire, the Isle of Wight and West Sussex.

Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust is committed to providing the highest quality of cancer care and the Oncology Department consists of a large Haematology and Oncology Day Unit, Radiotherapy Department, large outpatient facilities and a Macmillan Centre. We have 3 dedicated wards and an Acute Oncology Service, which includes 4 bay assessment areas and 2 cubicles.

The day unit has a dedicated manager and team of experienced nurses and administrators managing 30 treatment chairs and treating approximately 500-600 patients per week.

The radiotherapy team at Portsmouth are motivated, enthusiastic and forward thinking in their approach to improving the quality of treatment for patients through innovation and research. We actively participate in clinical trials and use these to bring advanced techniques, such as adaptive radiotherapy, into routine clinical use.

We are currently undertaking an equipment replacement programme for all 4 of our linacs, with the first two TrueBeams already in clinical use and the third replacement underway. In addition to the standard functionality, these linacs also have 6 DoF couches, visual coaching devices and iCBCT functionality. We also have HDR and LDR brachytherapy and orthovoltage treatment facilities. Pre-treatment facilities include a wide bore CT scanner and Prosoma virtual simulation software. ARIA V15.5 patient management system links all aspects of the patient pathway together. We are also working towards creating a paper light environment. The service delivers over 33,000 fractions per year.

You must be fully registered with the GMC/GDC, hold Licence to Practice and be on the Specialist Register, or within six months of attaining your CCT or equivalent at interview stage.
