Due to retirement, an opportunity has arisen to recruit an Operational Service Assistant (administration and clerical assistant), Band 3, to join the Occupational Therapy (OT) Out-Patient team at Victoria Infirmary Northwich (VIN).

Duties will include answering the telephone, receiving referrals and entering them onto the EMIS electronic system, making appointments, reception duties, greeting patients, general administration, as well as offering some clerical support to the Team Manager and the wider OT out-patient team based at Leighton.

As such there may be the occasional need to travel to Leighton for meetings and training.

The post holder must have excellent communication and computer skills, be highly organised and be able to prioritise and manage their own work load. They must be able to work well in a team and on their own. Previous experience of working in a patient environment, and use of EMIS would be beneficial.

The Occupational Therapy department at VIN is well equipped and based within the Therapy Unit at VIN. The small OT team is friendly, supportive, professional and dynamic; it is committed to delivering a high class service and is actively involved in research.

In return for your commitment we offer:-

• Excellent induction and in-service training packages

• Regular supervision

It is envisaged that the post will commence early December to allow a period handover with the current post holder who is retiring.

A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, or be able to demonstrate means of meeting the limited travel requirements of this post.

Clear reasoning for wishing to work for the Occupational Therapy Service should be detailed in the application.
