The Trust Boards of Luton and Dunstable University Hospital and Bedford Hospital are working towards becoming a single new NHS Foundation Trust with effect from 1st April 2020. Both hospitals will retain their identity with individual hospital names and key services will remain on both sites and be managed as single teams across the whole Bedfordshire catchment area. We are a regional centre of excellence for several key specialties including, Obesity Research, Neurophysiology, Cardiology, Ophthalmology and Cancer Services. We are a tertiary level NICU provider and one of the largest centres for breast screening in the country.

We are very pleased to offer the opportunity for a highly skilled nurse, expert in the care of people with diabetes and with proven leadership and organisational skills, to join our hospital as a Band 8a Lead Nurse.

As lead nurse, you will work with the in/out-patient diabetes specialist nurses and support other members of the diabetes health care team to provide high standards of patient care and work collaboratively with all professionals in the team to develop the service.

The role is based at the Luton & Dunstable Hospital in its purpose built Diabetes Centre and supported by the Administration team and Centre Manager.
