Applications are invited for a part-time Consultant post in Paediatric Neurology with an interest in neuromuscular disease, based at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales on the University Hospital of Wales site in Cardiff.

This appointment will complement the present team of two full-time Paediatric Neurologists and one part-time Paediatric Neuro-rehabilitation Consultant dedicated to the delivery of tertiary paediatric neurology services of the highest standard.

Commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching is expected of all Consultants in the department and ample opportunities for research are offered through our strong links with the paediatric clinical research facility based at the Children’s Hospital of Wales.

This post is currently part-time, working 9 sessions per week although there may be the opportunity to increase to full-time in the future.

Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.

You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary range for this post is £68,292 per annum to £88,663 per annum for a 9-session per week commitment plus a further £24,003 per annum available in Commitment Awards.

Applicants must ensure they provide the names and contact details of referees covering at least the last three years of their employment/training history in full. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.
