Return To Practice Nurse

Job Reference: 403-RTP.JAN20

Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust
Return to Practice

Are you a former nurse with a desire to return to practice with an innovative and supportive employer?

Somerset NHS Partnership and Taunton and Somerset NHS Foundation Trust (Musgrove Park Hospital) are offering opportunities for previously registered (NMC) Nurses from Mental Health, Learning Disabilities, Adult nursing and Midwifery to attend a Return to Practice Course.

During your programme we will offer you an honorary contract in one of our acute or community settings, where you will be fully supported by a sign off mentor.

The offer will be conditional on being accepted onto the Return to Practice programme delivered by the University of the West of England (UWE). The course will involve six study days at UWE’s Gloucester campus and practice hours in a clinical setting. The number of practice hours required will depend on the length of time you have been out of practice.

Your tuition fees will be funded by Health Education South West and you will also receive a £1000 Stipend during your studies (£500 for Midwifery).

We have placements available for the January 2020 cohort and will be interviewing on the 5th November 2019. Please note there will be a numeracy and literacy test as part of this process. You can find a sample test paper attached.

If you think that this is the ideal opportunity for you, please apply today to register your interest. Your supporting information should include the area of nursing you would like to return to and why. We will try to meet your preferences as much as we can.

Applicants should be resident in Somerset and intend to work in the county when they are back on the register.
