Since April 1st 2013 Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) have been the leaders of healthcare commissioning in the NHS. At NHS Stockport CCG we work with patients, the public, voluntary organisations and health and social care professionals and in partnership with local communities, local health and social care providers to commission services for all of the patients registered with our member GP practices. The CCG serves a population of 300,000 with an annual budget of £428 million.

We are currently looking to appoint a Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs, who will work closely with the Director of Corporate Affairs to ensure that the CCG exercises its functions effectively, efficiently, economically, with good governance and in accordance with the terms of the CCG constitution as agreed by its members and the Health and Social Care Act 2012.

The role will be key in supporting the CCG to achieve its aims and be responsible for maintaining the highest levels of corporate governance. The post will ensure the highest standards of probity according to statutory and legislative requirements that relate to Corporate Affairs, interpreting how they relate to the CCG.

The Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs will work across all areas that fall within the Director of Corporate Affairs’ remit, including HR and OD, legal advice, equality and diversity, communications and engagement, CCG and Primary Care IM&T as well as system and programme level organisational evaluation.

The post holder will foster a culture of good governance within the organisation where CCG managerial and clinical staff are committed to deliver functions in a cost effective, economically efficient manner that is consistent with good governance and in line with the CCGs values of openness and transparency and maintains high standards of public service, accountability and probity.

The post holder will act as Board Secretary for the CCG Governing Body and as such will develop excellent working relationships with the CCG Clinical Chair, Board members and Chairs of all CCG committees to ensure that good governance is part of the fabric of the organisation and is present in all aspects of the CCGs functions.
