Vehicle Preparation Operative

**PLEASE NOTE, THIS ADVERT IS FOR A RESERVE POOL & NOT A VACANT POST** 

 

Salary:            Band 2 £17,652 – £19,020 plus any unsocial hours enhancements relevant to the post as per the NHS Terms & Conditions 2018

Hours:            37.5 hours per week (12 hour day & night shifts, covering 365 days)

Base:              Worcester HUB, WR5 2NL

 

West Midlands Ambulance Service is looking to recruit a Vehicle Preparation Operative for its Operational HUB in Worcester.

You will work as part of a team responsible for the Make Ready preparation of emergency vehicles, ambulances and cars.  Vehicles are to be checked to ensure they are roadworthy, deep cleaned and stocked with the correct clinical equipment consumables.

Applicants must have a good standard of education with a minimum of 3 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade C or above including English & Maths or willing to undertake a level 2 qualification within the first 12 months in post along with a full UK driving licence which must show full or provisional C1 at the point of application. (applicants with provisional C1 licences will then be required to complete their full C1 licence within the first 6 months or employment)

Successful applicants will be expected to work full rotating shifts covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week & 52 weeks a year including days, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Where a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is required for the post, applicants are required to cover the cost of the check. The cost (£40 for an enhanced check or £23 for a standard/basic check) is payable to our online provider at the time that the DBS application is submitted.
