Physiotherapy / Hydrotherapy Pool Assistant

30 hours

Permanent

Grade/Salary Scale: Band 2 £17652 - £19020 per annum pro rata

An opportunity has arisen for a part time physiotherapy assistant to work within the therapeutic pool and main therapy department. This post will be based in the area of outpatient physiotherapy but will involve working with both out and in patients. You will be involoved with patients from the orthopaedic, rheumatology, paediatric, general medical and spinal injuries units. This post will involve working with children and adults.

Job Purpose

  • To assist the physiotherapy staff in general patient care and specific treatments in particular involving the hydrotherapy pool.
  • To work as a lifeguard when required.
  • To undertake administration and clerical duties within the Physiotherapy Department.
  • To provide clinical and non-clinical support to the Physiotherapy staff in order to main efficient organisation of the Physiotherapy Service.
  • To communicate effectively and work collaboratively with nursing and therapy colleagues to ensure a multidisciplinary service.
  • To assist with the cleaning of the pool area and the therapy outpatient department.

The successful candidate should have the RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification. You will have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and be able to react calmly to challenging situations.
