GP IT Primary Care Systems Facilitator - Permanent

Work Base: Hillingdon CCG, Boundary House, Cricket Field Road, Uxbridge, Middx, UB8 1QG

Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) commission’s health and care services for around 300,000 residents in the second largest Borough in London, reaching from Northwood and Ruislip in the north to Heathrow in the south. The CCG is constituted of 46 member practices and functions as part of the North West London (NWL) Collaboration of 8 CCGs.

A new and exciting role has arisen for an experienced multi-skilled GP IT Primary Care Systems Facilitator to join the CCG’s small but dedicated team of IT professionals to support the delivery of information technology to corporate headquarters and 46member practices in the Hillingdon Community.

The GP IT Systems Support Facilitator will support the delivery of Information and technology services for GP Systems and related Primary Care Services. S/he will support Primary Care Providers in making effective use of their IT systems, identifying where improvements can be made and helping to identify support & training requirements.

Along with related Primary Care Services and in particular for the provision of IT systems support and working closely with commissioners to support development and implementation of contracts, HCCG LIS’s and the associated reports. S/he will support Primary Care Providers in making effective use of their IT systems and tools, identifying where improvements can be made.

Trouble shooting of clinical system issues is a key part of this role, and seeking resolutions and sign-posting customers is integral to the post. The GP Systems Support Facilitator will, where agreed, support practices in the extraction of data where this is required for reporting purposes.

The post holder will assist/lead in the successful delivery of both national and local IM&T/Primary Care implementations / initiatives and will work closely with colleagues in all relevant directorates, to ensure that all Primary Care Services can provide the highest standard of patient care to the residents of Hillingdon CCG.

To be considered for this post you must be able to work effectively with both technical and nontechnical colleagues at all levels within across organisations/suppliers , and demonstrate an ability to successfully handle multiple, complex and large scale tasks, together with a proven ability to deliver work objectives successfully on your own initiative. Excellent problem solving, good written and verbal communication skills are vital for this role. You will also be expected to create and maintain documentation for both technical and non-technical staff.
