The IT team at NHS Hillingdon Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) provides support to the local CCG and 46 GP practices in Hillingdon. With healthcare becoming more dependent on IT services, it is imperative that service levels are maintained, improved and developed to meet the growing demands from health care professionals, patients and other service users.

Hillingdon has a small dynamic IT team and has a proven track record in delivery of IT support and encouragement to use new IT based services. The remit for supporting local practices is not limited to just pure IT services but to be an integral part of the CCG Business.

The post holder will be undertaking a key role in the development of provision of IT services that enable and support delivery of care to patients. This requires the skill to engage at a professional level with various IT service providers and be able to translate IT “jargon” into plain language for non IT literate and end users. The post holder must be able to motivate use of new services that provide improved care performance from all providers to the patient.

The post holder will manage the successful delivery of IT projects in line with the CCG’s IT strategy and business goals. They will support the AD of Informatics and Senior CCG Management to deliver change to the CCG and GP Practices. They will closely engage with all levels of staff and suppliers to deliver the required benefits.

The post holder will be responsible for managing a wide range of projects from initiation through to delivery across the entire project life cycle, ultimately handing over to live service. They will be responsible for delivering the highest possible standard of Project Management through the effective day to day management of projects in accordance with a recognised PM methodology, e.g. Prince 2.

They will act as a specialist in the field of project management for the IT Department ensuring their projects consistently meets targets, monitoring and evaluating progress against agreed objectives, identifying and managing change as required.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate good communication skills, have good organisational skills as well as the ability to provide clear progress reports on multiple projects.
