Are you seeking to develop your skills in patient management for acute and chronic pain. We are looking for an experienced registered health care professiona, ideally with a background in pain assessment and management to work in our acute and chronic pain team on a full time basis within our organisation. The acute pain team is a multidisciplinary team approach to the assessment, management and support to patients who are suffering from acute and chronic pain. The team offers a 6 day service to our patients with the team consisting of health care professional from medicine, anaesthesia, nursing and pharmacy to provide high levels of care. Through daily nurse led ward rounds, consultant led ward rounds, policy development and education patients and staff receive a quality patient outcome focused service.

The ideal candidate will have high clinical standards with an emphasis on pain management. The potential candidate will be well organised and be able to work as part of a multi disciplinary team. The team are a dynamic clinical team who have clear aspirations to develop both the team and the patient care that they deliver.

The successful candidate will work under the direction of the clinical lead and Associate Director of Health Care Professions to support patient assessment, education and direction the wards with all things relating to acute and chronic pain. Ideally the candidate will have non medical prescribing but education and development can be provided if required.

This post is open to both NMC registered Nurses and HCPC registered Operating Department Practitioners. We are looking for a highly motived, passionate health care professional who possesses excellent interpersonal communication skills, the ability to motivate and negotiate and is passionate about pain management. This post is subject to a 6 month probationary period in line with trust policy.
