Beech Tree Surgery are looking to recruit a part time receptionist to join the team. The working pattern is:


Monday 9.5hours

Thursday 5 hours

Friday 4 hours

Total 18.5 hours


Job Description


Job Purpose

  • To be the first point of contact for all patients contacting the practice

  • To follow practice protocols / procedures to ensure that the patients interaction with the practice is as smooth and effective as possible.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Opening / Closing the surgery

  • Booking appointments in-line with practice protocols whether by telephone or face to face

  • Re-arranging appointments by telephone or face to face

  • Arriving patients for appointments

  • Issuing prescriptions in-line with Practice Protocols

  • Handing out prescriptions and other documents to patients

  • Giving out results and other clinical information to patients

  • Receiving of Patient samples in line with practice Protocols

  • Investigating and responding to tasks and workflows directed to you by Clinicians, the management team or other relevant members of staff

  • Emptying GP out trays and pigeon holes and taking appropriate action with the content

  • Accurate reporting of death notification

  • Uploading new registrations

  • Attendance at Staff meetings (as far as reasonable possible)

  • To follow all Practice Policies

  • To complete all mandatory training

  • Any other reasonable task
