An exciting opportunity has arisen in the Central Booking Office, we currently have vacancies for an outpatient appointments booking co-ordinator, currently located in Pullman Court, Great Western Road.

The team plays an important role in managing clinics across the county, reducing waiting times and enabling patients to be seen in the venue of their choice. They also ensure efficient use of clinic capacity and ensure that target wait times are met. There is no face to face patient contact but a large proportion of the work requires communicating with patients on the phone and this presents a valuable opportunity to answer queries and concerns and thus to ease any anxieties which patients may have about coming to hospital.

•          Monitoring progress of referrals, identifying problems and taking appropriate actions to ensure efficient management of referrals...

•          To action clinic re-scheduling ensuring that clinical priorities are maintained and liaising directly with consultants where capacity problems exist.

•          To manage the follow-up appointments waiting lists to ensure clinical priorities are maintained.

•          To ensure accurate and timely data collection.  Advising the management team where over or under capacity issues exist and to suggest ways of addressing these.
