We are seeking to appoint a permanent Evidence and Evaluation Lead to be part of the mHabitat team. mHabitat is a small team working as part of the NHS and delivering digital innovation services to a range of public sector, academic and commercial clients. The mHabitat team supports digital innovation for health and wellbeing from catalysing new ideas through to developing, deploying and evaluating the impacts.

The core responsibilities of the Evidence and Evaluation Lead include organising and coordinating the evaluations of products and approaches to digital delivery, including reviewing literature and reviewing markets against standards and development support more broadly for the mHabitat team. A major part of the job will be the ongoing development and evaluation of individually commissioned health and care projects and the synthesising of cross programme outputs/outcomes to disseminate learning widely across the sector. The post holder will take a significant role in the refinement and testing of the evaluation framework that we have developed in collaboration with MindTech HTC. The role will also assist researchers and the mHabitat in ‘surfacing’ of insights into the behaviour change and effectiveness aspects of the programme.

There will also be the opportunity to seek out, develop and coordinate applications for additional external funding for research and development, in partnership with the team, commissioners, academics and business colleagues. Supporting recruitment strategies, methodological evaluation of approaches, ethical requirements, systematic reviewing of literature, data analysis, knowledge exchange activities and other aspects of the research process will be core to effective delivery of the role.

The role aims to embed research/evaluation practices across the mHabitat portfolio and be involved in and proactively assist in the development of a growing service organisation. The mHabitat team is involved in national and EU research/evaluation and development projects and this is an important element of the programme which will also fall under this role.

The role will provide depth of offer and support the leadership team in the mHabitat as part of an ongoing programme of innovation. The team work with the public and senior leaders and the post holder will need to be confident in managing customer relationships to maintain the reputation of mHabitat.
