The Integrated Community Equipment Service (ICES) is a joint County Council Community NHS operation that provides equipment for Worcestershire residents to remain in their own homes, achieving and maintaining independence in daily living tasks as well as supporting nursing and paramedical needs to enable patients to be treated in the community, facilitate safe discharge and prevent hospital admission. The service is based at Wychbold, just off Junc. 5 of the M5, from where our fleet of delivery/collection vans visit all corners of the county on a daily basis.

 

We are currently looking to fill a full time vacancy within the present driver/warehouse team, with a highly motivated, well organised person who is committed to maintaining the standards of this high quality service.

The successful candidate will undertake the delivery and collection of equipment to and from clients' homes, clinics, hospitals, and schools throughout Worcestershire. Duties will also include minor adjustment of wheelchairs to suit the individual and basic in situ reassembly of larger equipment. On a rotational basis you will be cleaning relinquished equipment, maintaining a clean, safe warehouse environment, and duties associated with the maintenance of stock. The ideal candidate will have a caring attitude, excellent communication skills, with relevant driving and stores experience.

The position requires a self-motivated individual capable of organising their own time. Excellent verbal communication skills and a Full Driving Licence are essential. A Driver Certificate of Professional Competence and valid Driver qualification card would be an advantage.

New employees to the Trust are required to pay the fee for the initial DBS check (this will be deducted from their first months’ salary) and the annual subscription (£13) to the DBS Update Service. The Trust offers a preceptorship year for newly qualified nurses and AHP's and attendance at preceptorship programmes is a condition of employment.
