We are a progressive and innovative team who provide services to children in the North of West Sussex, which covers Mid Sussex and the Crawley/Horsham area. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Occupational Therapist to join our team of dedicated therapists for a fixed term of one year. This post will be based at Crawley Child Development Centre, in Crawley Hospital. It offers the chance to be part of a forward-thinking, dynamic and dedicated team. This is a community post, with a caseload of children and young people with neurological and developmental conditions. The post holder will be responsible for carrying out assessments and providing interventions for children with complex needs.

You will work closely with the child, their family, and other professionals involved in their care including Physiotherapists, Specialist Nurses, Paediatricians and Speech and Language Therapists. We are committed to multidisciplinary working and contribute to specialist clinics. You will also be expected to liaise with education staff and provide reports to support education and healthcare plans. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are therefore essential to this post.

You will have the opportunity to contribute to and lead development of the Children's Occupational Therapy service alongside the Professional Lead and Clinical Service Manager. You will have responsibility for supervision of designated staff including carrying out appraisals. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Band 6 or current Band 7 wishing to expand or develop their skills within children's services. Candidates must be able to demonstrate clinical skills gained through previous experience working with children, or appropriate transferable skills.

Candidates are required to have current HCPC registration. We offer excellent training opportunities including access to external courses, in-service training, supervision and clinical support.

The ability to travel is essential as you will need to visit nurseries, schools and children’s homes. It is therefore essential that the candidate is a car owner.
