Opportunities are available in Acute and Elderly Medicine, the Surgical Division at our acute hospital sites which are situated at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) in Lancaster, Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal and Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow in Furness. As well as the acute services we also have opportunities for colleagues to work in our Community teams across the Lancashire and South Cumbria areas of the Morecambe Bay Area.

Full support will be given for you to achieve your developmental needs, this may include Honorary Contracts to enable you to settle into the hospital environment. We expect staff to work together as a team to achieve the best outcomes; you will be encouraged to work with your manager to identify an individual competency pack which will be relevant to the area in which you intend to work and to meet your learning needs.

Newly qualified Band 5 nurses are welcomed to apply; you can work towards Band 5 competencies & develop extended roles. Full support for Preceptorship given.

If you are successful at the shortlisting stage you will be invited to spend the afternoon with us on Friday 11th October 2019 at Furness General Hospital.

The afternoon will begin with a presentation, after which there will be a drugs calculation test and a 1:1 interview followed by a tour of the hospital site where you will have the opportunity to talk to members of staff.

Anyone newly appointed to the trust will be subject to the completion of a satisfactory 6 month probationary period (this includes bank staff). This will give the new staff member an opportunity to become familiar with the role and working environment.
