Family Therapist / Specialist Systemic Practitioner

Alder Hey CAMHS is organised into four service groups comprising of a Crisis Care Team, Liverpool Fresh CAMHS, Sefton Specialist CAMHS and an community eating disorder service (EDYs). We also have a Tier 4 Regional Inpatient Unit for 0-13 year olds. We work closely with our multidisciplinary colleagues and in close partnership with other parts of the NHS, local authorities, local universities, other agencies, voluntary organisations, schools, carers and users of our services.

We are now recruiting a highly experienced Specialist Systemic Practitioner who will be based within Liverpool Fresh CAMHS - a community based specialist mental health and emotional well-being service for children and young people (0-18 years), their families and the systems they access. We are organised into 4 teams, each working with a range of child and adolescent mental health difficulties, but each also with expertise in working with vulnerable groups, Infant and Early Years, 16-18 years; Youth Offenders, Looked After Children; Children with Learning Disabilities.

The successful candidate will join a highly regarded clinical service, leading on therapeutic interventions to children, young people and their families and providing clinical consultation & supervision to a wide range of professionals around complex cases across agencies within the city. Dynamic, innovative, committed and passionate, you will bring a wealth of experience and comprehensive knowledge and skill-base to the challenge of working with vulnerable children and families.

The ideal candidates will have considerable experience of managing risk and working with adversity in children and young people who present with complex mental health difficulties. They will also have extensive experience in Family Therapy and will lead on this area supervising and mentoring other clinical staff and developing clinical pathways.

Line management is provided within the service in line with professional governance requirements. Liverpool Fresh CAMHS is well-established and has a strong learning culture as well as links with local and national partners in developing best practice. The service works hard to promote access for children, young people and their families and has a strong participation agenda lead by the multi-award winning participation group ‘Team Fresh’ (young people) and Fresh Plus (parents and carers).
