Senior Coder – Huntingdon Based

£24,214- £30,112 (Band 5 + 15% Recruitment and Retention) Full Time

We are now looking to appoint a Senior Coder who will enjoy the challenge of working in a Specialist Cardiothoracic Coding team at Royal Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

We have recently moved into our new state-of-the-art hospital on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus, and have satellite offices in Huntingdon.

Having relevant experience and an ACC qualification, you will provide highly accurate clinical coding, have good organisational skills, an eye for detail and accuracy and the ability to work as part of a growing team.


The main duties will involve:

The provision of an efficient and high quality clinical coding service, as well as meeting Trust deadlines associated with clinical coding.

Some engagement in activity validation meetings with clinicians, education of junior clinicians in the importance of co-morbidity recording, building working relationships with service teams and to act as a point of contact for coding issues.

The coding team at Royal Papworth offers excellent training support, flexible working hours and an inclusive environment in which to work in a Specialist Heart and Lung Coding Team.

Based at out satellite offices in Huntingdon, with occasional travel expected between sites for meetings and clinical engagement.
