We are currently looking to recruit 1 x 18.75 hour Band 6 post at Victoria ward, Farnham Road Hospital, Guildford.

An excellent opportunity has arisen to come and be part of our dynamic, client-centred assessment and treatment ward for older adults. We are looking for an experienced, innovative and motivated Occupational Therapist who is passionate about working with Older People and is committed to providing high quality care that can make a real difference to older people and their families.

As a service we have developed innovative ways of delivering evidenced based and outcome measured occupational therapy in the Older People Service, including a variety of occupationally focused programmes. We use Model of Human Occupation to guide all our occupational therapy assessments and interventions and we are focused on integrating occupational and neuroscience into our practice.

The Occupational Therapy Leadership team is committed to an extensive, co-ordinated CPD programme including Trust wide training, core competence training, annual conferences, robust supervision structure, specialist interest groups and care groups. Staff are valued for their expertise in occupationally focussed interventions and specialist group therapy, including NICE recommended and evidence based community group programmes.

Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SABP) is one of the largest Mental Health Trusts in the South East working collaboratively with, health, social care and voluntary organisations. We also work in partnership with university colleagues to develop research projects and funding streams. SABP’s innovative approach to mental health care has been recognised nationally (HSJ).

Victoria ward is at Farnham Road Hospital in Guildford and provides assessment and treatment for older people suffering from an acute mental health conditions. Your role will include completing comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments, delivering both individual and group interventions and working as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

This post is suitable if you have experience of working with older people with mental health or cognitive impairment and want to be involved in delivering high quality, evidence-based, outcome measured OT interventions.

Please note that all salaries shown are based on whole time of 37.5 hours per week for non-medical roles and 40 hours per week for medical roles, part time roles are pro-rated accordingly.
