We are looking for enthusiastic, committed, energetic Senior General Nurses or Paramedics to join our team. This opportunity would suit skilled nurses/paramedics with good triage and assessment skills, good communication skills and the ability to lead junior staff and coordinate clinical care on a day to day basis. There are training opportunities for nurses/paramedics who are stepping into a managerial role for the first time or who want to develop their leadership skills to progress their career further. If you are interested in working with a diverse patient group this could be for you. What is essential is a ‘caring not judging’attitude, alongside the ability to work well within an experienced multidisciplinary team.

This is an ideal opportunity for nurses/paramedics who are seeking to broaden their range of skills and knowledge in caring for people detained in a prison or to take the next step in their career. You will work collaboratively with other service provider partners to provide high-quality patient care.

There will also be opportunities to rotate and work within the substance misuse team if you wish to broaden your clinical skills within this area of special interest

No previous prison experience is necessary, however candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the challenges of delivery healthcare in this environment. On the job training and full induction will be provided.

This role would suit a motivated, enthusiastic and resilient nurse/paramedic currently working in a band 5 or 6 position within an acute NHS trust, primary care setting, prison, NHS ambulance service.

Flexible working and part-time positions can be considered.

GOLDEN HELLO - A ‘Golden Hello’ payment of up to £2,500 (for nursing staff only)

REMOVAL EXPENSES SUPPORT - If you will have to move your place of residence more than 30 miles to take up a post at HMP Winchester we will be able help with your expenses, this potentially includes things like removal costs and down payments for tenancy agreements

ENHANCED BANK PAYMENTS- The hourly rate of bank pay in HMP Winchester is closer to agency rates and it is probably one of the highest rates in the NHS
