The Role


A Band 7 post has arisen in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) nursing team at the Homerton Hospital.

 

If you are interested in the post but do not think you fulfill the job specification please speak to Alex Hall as there is an opportunity for a training post as a band 6 and a Band 7 on completion of competencies.

 

The IBD team at the Homerton deliver care to over 1500 patients and the IBD Nurse plays an important role within that team. Applicants should be flexible and be able to prioritizes, have excellent organizational and communication skills. As you will be working directly with patients with complex needs and communicating with members of the multi-disciplinary team to problem solve and prevent unnecessary admission to the hospital. The IBD Nurse specialist performs a variety roles in the management of patients including outpatient and biologics clinics, managing immunosuppressant medication, audit, research, email and phone support,.

 

The candidate should have experience working with patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease with an understanding of the complexities of living with a chronic disease. Knowledge and experience of caring for patients undergoing intravenous medication is essential.
