We are looking for a part time and full time Band 6 Senior Substance Misuse Nurse who can demonstrate they can rise to the challenge of joining the ISMS (Substance Misuse) team at HMP Winchester, in Hampshire. Some previous experience of substance misuse is essential to this role.

HMP YOI Winchester is an all-male local prison located in Winchester holding up to 700 prisoners aged 18 and over. We work with men that are on remand and don’t know what their future holds, men that are on trial, men that are sentenced, sometimes for life... For some men it is their first time in prison, for some it might be their twentieth. Every person we work with could be someone’s dad, son, husband, brother.

What is essential is a ‘caring not judging’ attitude, alongside the ability to work well within an experienced team. A comprehensive induction programme is offered which includes all aspects of custodial nursing.

This is an ideal opportunity for nurses who are seeking to broaden their range of skills and knowledge in caring for people detained in a prison as part of a multi-disciplinary team. You will work collaboratively with other service provider partners to provide high quality patient care.

Interviews will be conducted at HMP Winchester Healthcare - open day 7th September 2019, 10am-4pm . This will be held at The Winchester Hotel and Spa, Worthy Lane Winchester, Hampshire, SO23 7AB
