We have a number of full time and part time roles as care assistants in our short break and residential homes in Cornwall. We provide care for children aged 5 – 18 years with a range of complex disabilities including learning disabilities, physical disabilities, sensory impairment, autism and at times behaviour which may challenge.

This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.

 This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies

 About You

You are enthusiastic in making positive changes to the lives of disabled children.
You are child centred, flexible in your role and can work as part of a team
You will hold, or be willing to work towards a level 3 qualification in child care.
You are committed in developing your professional care role.

Main purpose of the Job
You are committed to progressing outcomes, life skills and independence for children. 
You will support opportunities for play and meet the personal care needs for children and young people. 
You will support a positive behaviour approach to enable children and young people to communicate their needs in a way that minimises their use of challenging behaviour.
You will support children to have their health needs met.
You are available on a rota basis, including evening, weekends.
